Berryville Area Development Authority

Development Authority Composition

The six member board was established in accordance with the Virginia Code and the Amended Resolution and Agreement Defining Annexation Rights (agreement between Town of Berryville and the County of Clarke) to assist the Berryville Town Council and the Clarke County Board of Supervisors with matters related to community development within Annexation Area B.  The Berryville Area Development Authority has authority to review/approve/deny subdivision, boundary line adjustment, and site plan applications.  The Berryville Area Development Authority advises the Berryville Town Council and the Clarke County Board of Supervisors on amendments to the Berryville Area Plan, zoning and subdivision ordinance amendments, rezoning, and special use permits for properties located within Annexation Area B.

Appointment

Three Berryville Area Development Authority members are appointed by the Berryville Town Council and three members are appointed by the Clarke County Board of Supervisors.  Each member is appointed for a three year term.

Meetings

The Berryville Area Development Authority holds its regularly scheduled meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  Special meetings, work sessions, and committee meetings are held as needed; once a meeting is scheduled it will be placed on the Calendar.

All meetings are held at the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center, located at 101 Chalmers Court, in the Main Meeting Room, unless otherwise advertised.

Citizens are strongly encouraged to attend meetings of the Berryville Area Development Authority.
