NOTICE TO CONSUMERS OF THE
TOWN OF BERRYVILLE WATER SYSTEM
Levels of Haloacetic Acids Comply with
Drinking Water Standards
In early February, the Town provided notice to its water customers of that its water system did not comply with the Primary Maximum Contaminant Level for Haloacetic Acids. The water system was tested for this contaminant again in late February. The results of that testing reveal that the Town’s water system is in compliance with applicable standards.
The Maximum Contaminant Level for Haloacetic Acids is 0.060 mg/L (may not exceed this level). The highest locational Haloacetic Acid level in the first quarter of 2023 was 0.040 mg/L. The highest locational average level of Haloacetic Acids second quarter 2022 through first quarter 2023 was 0.060 mg/L.
Town personnel will continue their efforts to manage the Town’s water system in a manner that minimizes the production of Haloacetic Acids and other chlorination by-products.
The Town’s 2022 Water Quality Report is being drafted and is expected to be mailed to customers in late spring. This report will provide additional information about the quality of your drinking water.
