Weather conditions have presented challenges to crews that collect leaves using the Town’s leaf vacuum machine.
Recent precipitation has soaked the leaves and they will have to be drier before collection. Further, collection crews have been diverted to other duties such as clearing snow and will be collecting a considerable amount of yard waste as a result of storm damage.
Leaves that have been placed in bags and set out for collection will be collected as a part of the weekly yard waste collection.
Leaves that have been staged along the curb for collection by the leaf vacuum will be collected as conditions permit. Town crews will work to complete this collection, if possible, before December 14. Additional notice will be provided if it becomes necessary to extend the collection period.
