Rappahannock Electric Cooperative will be clearing
vegetation from their rights of way in areas west of South Buckmarsh Street (US
Route 340). The work is expected to
commence January 14, 2019 and continue through February 1, 2019. This work period is approximate and may have
to be amended because of weather events or other factors.
This work is needed to ensure public safety, to protect the power lines from damage, and to maintain a continuous flow of electricity to customers. It will include the pruning of trees near the power lines, removal of brush under the conductors, and the taking down of dead or other hazardous trees that may fall on the lines.
